Local Officials' Endorsements
I have had the privilege of working closely with many of our elected officials, and I am honored to have the endorsement of our School Board President and every member of our City Council.
Assemblymember, District 16
I met Kristie in my capacity as Board President when she was fighting Big Tobacco right here in Livermore. Her passion for saving our youth from the dangers of vaping and her dogged persistence in taking on, and ultimately beating, a corporate bully are impressive. Kristie will bring a high skill set, organizational experience, and a true passion for students to our School Board during this challenging time.
On Nov. 3rd, I’ll be casting my vote for Kristie Wang, LVJUSD Trustee.
President of Livermore School Board
I am impressed by Kristie’s deep commitment to the health, safety, and education of our children, and I am endorsing her for the Livermore School Board of Trustees.
I met Kristie two years ago when she and two other Livermore moms approached me about the youth vaping epidemic. We embarked on a two-year journey to craft, pass, and ultimately protect one of the strongest local policies in the country. This joint effort allowed me to see Kristie’s considerable skills in using policy to solve a public problem, as well as her passion for doing what’s right for our youth.
I cannot think of a stronger candidate for Livermore School Board.
Livermore Vice Mayor
I am strongly endorsing Kristie Wang for school board. Kristie was one of the founders of Flavors Addict Kids-Livermore. When FAK-L met with me to encourage a city anti-vaping ordinance, I was impressed by Kristie’s tireless efforts on behalf of a healthy community, healthy schools, and healthy children. Her strong background in public policy enabled her to research, consolidate, and clearly make the case for the groundbreaking anti-vaping ordinance Livermore has today. Now we face unprecedented challenges: a global pandemic, the resulting economic fallout, and a reemerging civil rights movement. Our school system must have strong leadership to meet the needs of all our students through these difficult times.
Kristie’s background, knowledge, and experience make her the best possible person to lead Livermore schools now. I have appreciated working with Kristie in the past. I look forward to working with her as school board member in the future.
Livermore City Councilmember
I first met Kristie about two years ago when she and two other moms met with me to discuss the dangers of vaping to school-age adolescents. They were looking for a partnership with the City of Livermore to ban both flavored vaping liquids and paraphernalia, from retailers in Livermore. I learned that Kristie was willing to do the hard work of becoming deeply informed on a subject and passionately promoting her focus on protecting the health of all children in Livermore.
I believe she will bring the same dedication to the LVJUSD school board with attention devoted to the tough problems that teachers and students are facing in today’s environment. I strongly endorse Kristie Wang for the Livermore School Board.

I met Kristie through her husband, who worked in the same division at LLNL that I was in. He told me that his wife Kristie had volunteered in their children’s classrooms for several years. She had a background in education policy and would like to get involved with our schools at the District level. I was School Board President at the time, so I suggested she get on the Citizens’ Oversight Committee for our school bond measures to gain some experience with the budget and I introduced her to Kelly Bowers, who had recently been promoted to Superintendent of the Livermore Schools. Kristie’s has now been involved with our schools for more than 13 years.
Kristie is committed to enhancing the education programs in our schools and helping to ensure that our students get an outstanding education. Currently, she has tackled some difficult issues such as keeping our students away from vaping. Or perhaps better stated as keeping vaping away from our students. She would be a great addition to our School Board as she has been working with the current School Board on a number of issues. Her activities have also involved working with our neighboring school districts. This cooperation with our neighboring districts is an important activity of our School Board that Kristie is already familiar with. I recommend that you take the time to read Kristie’s resume outlining the work that she has done with our schools.
She will be an outstanding representative on our School Board. I am going to vote for Kristie.
Former Livermore School Board President & Trustee, 2004-2014
I enthusiastically endorse Kristie Wang because she is a tireless advocate for children; the best kind of advocate because she walks the walk.
She has done amazing work encouraging young people to exercise their voice in this participatory democracy. In seeking a seat on the school board she is committed to doing the hard work to make sure students are served and teachers are supported in a very difficult time. She knows what it is like to navigate this with her own children in school thus understanding the concerns of parents too.
I have taught for over 40 years and I have served as a councilmember. I know an excellent public servant when I see one. Kristie Wang is doing this for all the right reasons. Vote for Kristie Wang for Livermore School Board.
Pleasanton City Councilmember, 2006-2014;
Retired Teacher (40 years); Civic Education advocate
The role of a school board member is to set the direction, establish an effective and efficient structure, ensure accountability, provide community leadership as advocates for children, the school district, and public school.
Her involvement in the district, as a proven community leader, as well as her background in education policy positions Kristie well as the top choice. She has the head and heart for the job!
